Media Losing Battle to Enact Gun Control as Support Falls to 7-Year Low

America’s support for gun control measures has fallen to a seven-year low, according to a new Gallup poll released on Wednesday.

The media has been trying to force Americans to support gun control with constant attacks on the Constitution and the Second Amendment since the 1970. But while the media and their Democrat masters did gain some success early on (remember the now defunct assault weapons ban?), support for gun control has been fading for more than a decade. And now that support has hit an all-time low.

The new Gallup poll shows that support for gun control has fallen once again.

Support for gun control usually spikes after mass shootings. After the Parkland, Florida, shooting, for instance, support for gun control surged to 67 percent. But now it has fallen to 52 percent, the lowest it has been in seven years.

Also, 35 percent think that there are quite enough gun laws right now, and new ones aren’t needed. Another 11 percent say that they want even less strict laws.

The survey also found another all-time low. Only 19 percent now want a total gun ban.

“Americans’ support for stricter gun laws has typically risen in the aftermath of high-profile mass shootings and fallen during periods without such events. Changes in the party occupying the White House may also influence preferences for gun laws,” Gallup’s Megan Brenan wrote. “Generally, the public favors stricter laws when Republicans are in office and less strict laws when Democrats are.”

Americans simply don’t want their Second Amendment rights taken away. The left is still losing this argument. And they aren’t learning their lesson.
