Liberal Vermont Has Worst COVID Cases in U.S. Despite Highest Vaccination Rate

Despite being the most vaccinated state in the Union, Vermont has had the highest spike in new COVID cases, a report says.
“Vermont has seen 921 new infections and four new deaths over the last four day,” according to NBC News.
Per NBC:
New data offer clues to what’s behind the surge that varies significantly by region and age group. The northeast kingdom region of Vermont is seeing much higher infection rates, for example, than Chittenden County, which has higher vaccination rates.
“If you’re vaccinated, you’re highly protected from COVID-19’s worst effects. But if you’re not vaccinated, or you’re at higher risk due to your age or other medical conditions, you’re vulnerable, said Health Commissioner Dr. Mark Levine, speaking at Tuesday’s briefing with Scott. “This means we need everyone’s help to protect those at higher risk now, while spread is high in our communities.”
Still, despite all the claims that being vaccinated keeps you safe, Vermont has the highest vaccination rate at 70.62 percent of its population vaccinated. This is very high considering that most of what is left are the state’s kids who have yet to be approved for vaccinations.
Remember, doctors had originally said that “herd immunity” occurs when 60 percent of a population has either had the virus or is vaccinated against it.
Yet, Vermont has the worst infection rate.
Imagine that.
Some of the other highly vaccinated states in the top 5:
Connecticut: 70.02% vaccinated
Rhode Island: 69.97%
Maine: 69.81%
Massachusetts: 68.98%
