Judge Rules Hospital in Contempt of Court for Refusing Order to Supply Patient with Ivermectin

A judge in Virginia has moved to hold a Warrenton hospital in contempt of court for refusing to allow a patient to be treated with the drug Ivermectin despite being ordered to allow the treatment.

Kathleen Davies, 63, fell desperately ill with COVID-19 back in October and has been on a ventilator since Nov. 3. Her family and her doctor wanted to begin using the promising drug Ivermectin in the hopes of bringing her back to health. But the hospital flat out refused to allow the use of the drug.

After weeks of meetings with hospital officials to convince them to allow the use of the drug, the family took the hospital to court to compel it to allow the treatment. The family won, and Loudoun County Circuit Court Judge Jim Fisher issued an order telling Fauquier Hospital to stand aside and allow the treatment.

The hospital still refused to allow the treatment and flaunted the court order.

“They believe it’s a fight between the rights of the hospital and the rights of citizens. They feel their rights trump her rights,” the patient’s son, Christopher Davies, told the Fauquier Times newspaper.

The hospital took a sneaky way out by saying that they don’t feel the patient’s doctor, Dr. Martha Maturi, is “qualified” to care for the woman. So, they denied her the right to perform medical duties in the hospital.

Consequently, Judge Fisher ruled that the hospital is in contempt of court.

“No good reason or good cause was given, other than convenience, for the need of a formal ‘attending physician’ when there are at least three physicians involved in the patient’s care. The relief herein can be accomplished without requiring anyone serving in the role of ‘attending physician,'” Fisher’s order explained.

The hospital finally relented, and the patient is now being treated with Ivermectin. Unfortunately, at this point she is so far gone it may not matter.

If this woman dies, it is the hospital that killed her.
