Trump and Colin Kaepernick pass football on White House Lawn

Days after President Donald Trump said that Colin Kaepernick should get another chance in the National Football League “if he has the playing ability,” the two were seen tossing the pigskin around the White House Lawn.

How did this historic meeting happen? Kanye West, a mutual friend of the President and Kaepernick, has been working tirelessly behind the scenes to arrange it for the past two years.

In 2018, during a TMZ Live interview, West said he hopes the two sides would meet and work out their issues. Well, his dream has finally come true.

President Trump stated, “Colin is a great guy. Really great. He has a hell of an arm, people. We may have our differences but we both love football. I mean… who doesn’t love football, right? You can’t be an American if you don’t love football.”

There was no discussion about kneeling for the national anthem, but Kaepernick reportedly said “Hopefully, this gesture of peace will be a symbol of Americans coming together to defeat systemic racism.”
