Teen Whose Senior Year was Ruined by COVID Policies Wins School Board Race
In a case of victory being the best revenge, a 19-year-old high school grad whose senior year was totally ruined by his school’s foolish COVID policies has won a seat on his local school board.
After graduating last year from Egg Harbor Township High School in South Jersey’s Atlantic County, Nicholas Seppy decided to run for school board in last week’s election. When all was said and done, he defeated Terre Alabarda for a seat on the township’s school board by an overwhelming 17-point margin.
Seppy trounced Alabarda winning 4,042 votes to Alabarda’s 2,830, according to The College Fix.
Egg Harbor took extreme measures in 2020 when the COVIDiots reigned supreme. The school completely shut down for several months and forced most students to online classes. Seppy said the whole experience was “awful.”
The school’s illogical actions caused Seppy to run for office to “give parents a voice in the district.” He felt it was his “duty” to do so.
Some of his priorities included expanding civics education and increasing vocational training opportunities for the district’s students.
“I am overjoyed to announce that I have won a seat on the EHT Board of Education,” the young candidate wrote on his Instagram page after the election.
He added:
My passion for the community of Egg Harbor Township is entirely everlasting, I aspire to set a positive example for our district. EHT shall have an excellent reputation, in both our standard of education and our efficient process of our budget. I would like to thank all who have supported me over these past two years, without you none of this would have ever been possible. I would also like to thank my opponent, Ms. Terre Alabarda, for running a strong and fair election.
To all of Egg Harbor Township, I love you and will do my absolute best to represent you for many years to come!
