Failed Georgia Democrat Stacey Abrams Outright Lies that She Didn’t Challenge Election Results

Failed Georgia Democrat gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams outright lied last week when she said she didn’t challenge the outcome of the election she lost to Geo. Gov. Brian Kemp in 2018.

Abrams ran for Gov. in the Peach State in 2018 and lost by well over 50,000 votes. The margin of her loss is many thousands away from a believable margin of error. Still, Abrams has never conceded that she lost that election and has spent the last five years constantly claiming that the election was rigged and that she actually won. Nearly every day since Oct. of 2018 she has assailed the legitimacy of that election.

But last week, when Abrams announced that she is looking for a rematch against Kemp and told supporters that she is once again throwing her hat in the ring for Geo. governor, she outright lied and said she never contested the 2018 election she lost so badly.

Speaking to MSNBC — naturally — Abrams delivered a baldfaced lie:

“I did not challenge the outcome of the election, unlike some recent folks did,” the Democrat insisted to Maddow.

“What I said was that the system was not fair. And leaders challenge systems. Leaders say we can do better. That is what I declared. I could not in good conscience say that, in order to protect my political future, I’m going to be silent about the political present which is that we have a system under a leader that sought to keep people from casting their ballot, that threw the ballots out, that said that voter suppression was a viable tactic for winning elections.”

This is a straight out falsehood. Here is what she said a week election night in 2018:

That was 10 days after Election Day when she delivered what was billed by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution as a “non-concession speech” in which she said, “I will not concede because the erosion of our democracy is not right,” even as she acknowledged there was no “viable” path forward and that Kemp would be certified the winner.

“Let’s be clear: This is not a speech of concession,” Abrams added. “Because concession means to acknowledge an action is right, true or proper. As a woman of conscience and faith, I cannot concede that.”

Abrams then massed a volunteer army to fan out across Georgia to “find” voters who claimed their vote was not counted.

Twitter user Jay Caruso pointed out the lie:

Worse, while spending the last five years running around the country trying to undermine democracy in Georgia, the media has treated her like a star.
