Corporations Beware: Most People Oppose Companies Pushing Woke Social Issues

In a warning to woke CEOs, a new poll of Americans find that most oppose companies pushing left-wing, woke social issues instead of just selling stuff.

In fact, the new poll conducted by the Brunswick Group shows that company CEOs are entirely at odds with what Americans want. The most shocking numbers show that 63 percent of CEOs are all for pushing hardcore, anti-American, left-wing policies on customers. However, only 36 percent of Americans agree with the CEOs.

“As the data show, the organizational impulse to weigh in on any and every social issue is disregarded by audiences, disconnected from what people want, and even diminishing to corporate reputation,” the pollsters said in their report.

The pollsters add that CEO’s “vastly overestimate” their importance on social issues.

Indeed, even respondents who said they voted for Joe Biden only support corporate activism at 51 percent while 63 percent of CEO’s think they should use their companies to act as social justice warriors.

Corporate executives also “have a highly inflated sense of how effective corporate communication has been on social issues compared to voters,” according to the study. Most executives (74%) think corporate social justice communications have been effective, compared to a minority of voters (39%) who agree.

More than 60% of voters think “companies only speak out on social issues to look better to consumers and are not being sincere,” whereas a solid majority of executives think their actions are more virtuous, with 57% saying, “Companies speak out on social issues because they want to achieve real change.”

The poll found that CEOs overestimate their role in nearly every single category.

This is no surprise, but it should serve as a warning to these arrogant CEOs and cause them to scale back their extreme activism.

Will they listen? Probably not until they begin losing billions of dollars of market share.
